This table, introduced and co-hosted by Chris Wainwright and Peter Jenkinson, will invite participants to discuss the art school, past, present and future, in terms of its changing social, cultural roles in the new research environment. Amongst the topics for discussion the table will consider the art school in its international context and the ways in which research can contribute to a wider understanding of the role that art schools have played and continue to play.

This will be a free ranging discussion drawing on the experiences and ideas of the table participants.
