Digital media has had a profound impact on what we understand to be the nature and function of archives. In this changing context how can archives act as a site for artists’ use and re-use of materials and how can artists themselves use archives? How do we develop archival practice and theory? This table will consider the ways in which digital archives also relate to other kinds of online presence, and communities creating exhibitions and archives.

Temporary Host is a two-day symposium bringing together present and future ICFAR projects and project partners in order to foster new international collaborations and develop and share current ones. Curated as a series of linked tables, the event looks at how at we host research in art schools, and how we connect research practice to the contexts that inform it outside the institutional context.
